Perennial plants grow for two or more years and go through repeated flowering and seed producing cycles. Learn the many considerations to take into account when selecting perennials such as flowering and colors, evergreen vs. deciduous, size and structure, and light and climate requirements. Once planted, perennials provide a place of beauty and interest for years to come.

Several times each year, our support group — the Friends of the UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden — holds plant sale fundraisers at the Arboretum Teaching Nursery where our members and the public are invited to shop our one-acre nursery filled with tens of thousands of attractive, low-water, easy-care plants perfect for our region.
