[ARCHIVED] Maintaining Your Water-Wise Landscape

News Announcement - Lime Green Icon

Many homeowners throughout Contra Costa County, and California for that matter, have replaced their water-thirsty lawns with water-wise landscaping. There are now many beautiful examples of water-wise residential gardens. But having a new landscape requires learning a little about how to maintain it. Below are just a few of the many questions posted on CCWD’s Maintaining Your Water-Wise Landscape Facebook Group

  • How much should I water?
  • How do I keep out weeds?
  • Is it time to cut back my perennials?
  • How much mulch should I install?

This Facebook Group was created to provide a forum for residents in Contra Costa County (and elsewhere) to get advice and to give advice on maintaining their water-wise landscapes. The group includes hundreds of local novice gardeners and many gardening experts. Discussions topics include choosing plants, installation techniques, pruning, irrigation installation and maintenance, watering practices and techniques, and much more. Join us and show off photos of your own beautiful water-wise landscape or get tips to make your yard the best on the block.
