Contra Costa Water District’s Board of Directors was pleased to present an Excellence in Water, Wastewater and Recycled Award at a recent Board meeting to Taylor Whitmore, a recent graduate of Carondelet High School for her exemplary science project she submitted to the Contra Costa County Science and Engineering Fair. Ms. Whitmore presented her winning project entitled “Tale of Two Tanks,” centered on the impacts of ocean acidification. Ms. Whitmore and her Chemistry and Forensic Science teacher, Dr. Katherine Hutches, were both recognized for their achievements.
Every year, Contra Costa Water District sponsors the Contra Costa Science and Engineering Fair through Bay Area LEEDS, with several staff members participating as volunteer judges. We support STEM education programs, especially those related to water, and are pleased to see a winning project this year focused on water and the environment. Congratulations again to Ms. Whitmore!
