A Community Celebration and New Discoveries
The Los Vaqueros Reservoir recently celebrated a momentous milestone with its 25th Anniversary Open House. The event was a resounding success, bringing together community members, nature enthusiasts, and local water advocates to commemorate this significant achievement and enjoy a day filled with engaging activities and educational experiences. Looking back on the event, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all those who participated!
The event offered a diverse range of activities that captivated the roughly 200 attendees. From guided nature walks and tours to the top of the dam to informative exhibits and interactive booths with staff available to answer questions, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Participants had the opportunity to explore the breathtaking landscapes, learn about the reservoir's crucial role in storing high-quality water for our communities, and deepen their understanding of the need for investments in water quality.
One of the highlights of the 25th Anniversary Open House was the unveiling of new signage and exhibits at the Los Vaqueros Interpretive Center. These additions enhance the visitor experience by providing a deeper understanding of the reservoir's history, significance, and ongoing expansion efforts. We invite everyone to visit the Los Vaqueros Interpretive Center and experience the new signage and exhibits.
