Welcoming Visitors Back

Posted on March 14, 2023 at 10:47 AM by Mimi Mehaouchi

We sincerely appreciate all of our wonderful watershed visitors who have been checking in and asking when they can enjoy the watershed – thank you for your patience. Our gates on the northern and southern entrances are back open and we are excited to see people hiking, fishing, and enjoying Los Vaqueros Reservoir. We have not yet repaired all damage from the storms. For your safety, please follow all posted signs and be aware of new traffic control measures.

See below for details about areas currently open at Los Vaqueros.

South Entrance

The south side is open with limited access. Los Vaqueros Road is open from the entry kiosk to the Marina, which is open every day of the week during business hours.

Traffic Control Measures on Los Vaqueros Road

Due to the damage along Los Vaqueros Road, new traffic control measures are in place to facilitate a one-lane road for a small portion. We apologize for the short delays and appreciate your patience. Please proceed with caution and follow the speed limit along Los Vaqueros Road and stay alert to the new signage and traffic control stops.

Fishing and Boating

Shoreline fishing is open on the south side, including the rock wall and south cove. 1,000 lbs. of trout recently planted in anticipation of reopening the south side. Boats are available to rent. As always, call the Marina at 925-371-2628 ahead of time to confirm conditions.
