Join us for a public tour! 

Have you ever wondered where the water comes from when you turn on your faucet? Would you like to see how we produce the safe, high-quality drinking water that is delivered to your home? Interested to see how your rate dollars are invested in your drinking water system? On our public tours, you’ll follow the journey of water from its source to your tap. Full Day Facilities Tours

Join us for a day of learning about your water system. Tour major facilities that make your tap water some of the best in the country.

Details

  • Tours begin in Concord at 8 a.m. sharp. We aim to return by 3:30 p.m.
  • All participants must ride on bus. Attendees may not follow along in their own vehicle.
  • Lunch and light refreshments are provided.
  • Group bookings are not accepted.

Requirements

  • Attendees must live or work in the Contra Costa Water District service area.
  • Attendees must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Attendees must be able to climb stairs and walk a fair amount throughout the day.

How to Dress

  • Attendees must wear comfortable closed-toe shoes.
  • Attendees are advised to wear layers, including long pants, long-sleeve shirts and jackets.
  • Depending on the weather, attendees may want to bring a hat and sunscreen.

1.5 Hour Water Treatment Plant Tour

Join us for a 1.5 hour tour to learn about a state-of-the-art water treatment facility that provides safe, high-quality drinking water.

  • Tours begin at 8:30 a.m. sharp. 
  • Meet at the Ralph D. Bollman Water Treatment Plant in Concord.
  • Group bookings are not accepted.
