The Bay Area, like only 2% of the world, has a Mediterranean climate. This means that we have cool, wet winters and summer droughts.
Bette Boatmun Conservation Garden
It is important to have landscaping that uses drought-tolerant plants, efficient irrigation, and employs other water-saving methods. You can visit CCWD's Bette Boatmun Conservation Garden to see how plants grow using 50% less water than a comparable lawn.
The garden is located at the District's Main Offices at 1331 Concord Ave. in Concord. Due to construction at the building, parts of the garden will need to be replanted, but the front portion of the garden is still accessible.
