See How Your Water Gets To You!

Visit the top of the dam, a water treatment plant, see animals in the watershed & more!

We will introduce you to some of the animals in the watershed,
like this gopher snake.

The tour concludes at the John Muir Interpretive Center at Los Vaqueros.

The Contra Costa Water District has a program that allows customers to tour its facilities.

These free bus tours are educational outings for adults that include visits to a water treatment plant, an intake facility, the expanded Los Vaqueros Reservoir and the watershed.

The beautiful Marina building is now open, and if the weather is favorable, we'll include a boat ride on the reservoir.

Our spring, 2013 tours are completly booked.

We will also have tours in the fall, so you can be placed on a waiting list.

CCWD customers over the age of 18 are invited to sign up for this tour of District facilities to learn about water quality issues and how CCWD diverts water from the Sacramento/San Joaquin Delta, stores it in the Los Vaqueros Reservoir and conveys it in the Contra Costa Canal to a treatment plant in the service area.

These tours include lunch, and will depart from CCWD's Concord District Center (1331 Concord Ave.,
Concord). We can also pick you up at the Randall-Bold Water Treatment Plant in Oakley.

Sign-ups are on a first-come, first-served basis.

There is no cost for CCWD customers but you must be over age 18 and sign-up individually. No group bookings, please.
