Concord - The Contra Costa Water District (CCWD) and its employees have won numerous awards during the past year. CCWD’s mission is to strategically provide a reliable supply of high quality water at the lowest cost possible, in an environmentally responsible manner. The District prides itself on its commitment to carry out its mission and these awards are recognition of the hard-work and dedication of all CCWD employees.
Water Treatment
• Phase III Directors Award – Partnership for Safe Drinking Water: CCWD’s two water treatment plants (the Randall-Bold Water Treatment Plant in Oakley and the Ralph D. Bollman Water Treatment Plant in Concord) received this award for meeting the Partnership’s high standards for safe drinking water. The Partnership is a voluntary cooperative effort between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and five major national drinking water organizations. The goal of the Partnership is to protect public health by optimizing water treatment plant performance and preventing microbial contamination in America's drinking water supply.
Communications
• Bronze Anvil Merit Award – Public Relations Society of America: Awarded to CCWD for Interactive Communications recognizing the District’s website. This award rewards excellence in public relations strategy and execution, and takes into account creativity in all forms.
Financial
• Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting ─ Government Finance Officers Association: The award recognizes excellence in financial reporting by state and local governments.
• Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award ─ National Purchasing Institute and California Association of Public Purchasing Officers: This award recognizes organizational excellence in public procurement processes.
