Find the Animals in the Los Vaqueros Wetlands
& See What a Colorful Place Los Vaqueros Can Be!

There are 10 animals in the black & white painting below, find each one -- learn a little about them -- and
you'll see the color of LV appear right before your eyes. Find them all, and you can print a copy of this color painting.

You will need Macromedia Shockwave to run this page.

Don't forget the Tiger Salamander and the Pacific Tree Frog! Look in the reeds for the Red-Winged Blackbird.

Bay Area Illustrator Paul Kratter created three paintings on Los Vaqueros, each illustrating a different ecosystem in the Los Vaqueros watershed.

All three paintings are on display at the Los Vaqueros Interpretive Center. Paul Kratter has illustrated many books for children and adults including "River Discoveries", "A Tiger Tale" and "Butterfly Count".

Butterfly Count was listed as one of the outstanding science books for 2002 by the National Science Teachers Association.

When you visit the Los Vaqueros watershed, there's a good chance you may see many of the animals shown above.
