Schools outside of the CCWD service area are not eligible to use the program. Return to questions.
- How do I book a date?
To book a date, you must submit a fully completed, legible registration form. Incomplete or illegible forms will be returned. At least four-weeks notice is required and all registrations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Return to questions.
- When can I book a program?
Registrations will be accepted for the upcoming school year starting May 1st. Requests received prior to May 1st for the next school year will not be considered. Return to questions.
- Can I register by phone?
No, registrations can only be submitted by mail, fax or in person. Return to questions.
- How do I know what dates are available?
We ask you to give us three different date choices. We do our best to accommodate your 1st choice, however, depending on availability, it may be necessary to confirm your 2nd or 3rd choice, so please ensure that all the dates you give us will work for you and your school calendar before submitting your registration form. The education calendar on our website will also show the available dates for the different programs. Return to questions.
- How can I book a bus if I don’t know what date I will get?
There is a check box on the registration form to indicate how you will be arriving at the treatment plant. Please indicate that you will be arriving by bus. We will notify you with your tour date. Once your transportation is confirmed, notify the coordinator at 925 688-8307 or email and your date will be finalized and the confirmation sent to you. Return to questions.
- Can you hold a date for me until I send in my registration form?
Due to the popularity of our programs, we are unable to hold dates. To book a date, you must submit a fully completed, legible registration form. All registrations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Return to questions.
- How can I register more than one class for a Treatment Plant program?
We can accommodate up to 40 students per program. If the total number of students exceeds that you will need to book multiple programs. You may request up to 2 tours per day and 3 days (up to 6 tours) per registration form. Return to questions.
- How will I know that my date is confirmed?
Most registrations are processed within two weeks and a confirmation packet will be mailed to the contact person designated on the registration form. Confirmation packets contain important information. Do not assume you have a reservation until you receive your confirmation. If you have not received your confirmation within three weeks, please contact the education coordinator at 925-688-8307 or email. Return to questions.
- When are your programs scheduled?
Most CCWD Water Treatment Plant tours are scheduled on Wednesdays during the normal school year. However, there are other available dates, look at the Education Calendar on the website. If you schedule two tours in one day the first tour is conducted 8:40-10:20 and the second tour is 10:30-12:00. This will allow one bus to shuttle two classes. If you schedule one program/day it is scheduled from 10:00 -11:30. Alternate days and times can be booked with the approval of the education coordinator. Return to questions.
- What grades can use the CCWD Water Treatment Plant tour?

- How many students can participate?
The maximum number of students we can accommodate at one time is 40. Return to questions.
- How many adults can/should accompany the tour?
We would like to have between 2-6 adults (teachers included) accompany the group. We MUST have at least 2 adults (teachers included) in order to conduct the program. Younger siblings are not permitted. Return to questions.
- Where are the CCWD Water Treatment Plants?
CCWD has two treatment plants. The Bollman facility is at 2015 Bates Rd, Concord, the Randall-Bold facility is located at 3760 Neroly Rd., Oakley. Please indicate on the registration form which facility you would like to visit. At times, construction or operational concerns will prevent one of the plants from being used for the school program. If this happens you will be contacted by the education coordinator. Return to questions.

No, it is the school’s responsibility to provide transportation. However we do need to know if you will be arriving by private automobiles or bus. CCWD will reimburse the school for the cost of bus transportation up to $300 per trip. Return to questions.
