A
Variety of Education Experiences Are Available From CCWD
Signups for Education Programs Begin May 8
Teachers,
This is where you can enter the lottery for Los Vaqueros Watershed Connection Field Trips and sign up for Classroom Presentations or Water Treatment Plant Field Trips.
Just click on the registration form for the program you want and fill it out. Then return it by e-mail, fax or U.S. mail to:
Gina Oltman

The process works best when each school has one Contact Person representing each grade level. For example, if your school has five fourth-grade classes, pick one fourth-grade teacher to be the Contact Person for all five classes. You will see that the registration forms are set up for this.
Los Vaqueros Watershed Connection Field Trips are scheduled by lottery, due to the program’s popularity. The entry period for the lottery closes at 5 p.m. May 17, 2013. Make sure your forms are entered before that deadline. Postmarks will not count.
Classroom Programs and Treatment Plant Tours are not scheduled by lottery. They are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Programs will be scheduled Sept. 9, 2013 – June 6, 2014, with no programs Dec. 16 – Jan. 7 and April 21 – 25.
Read the registration forms thoroughly. There is a lot of information on them and your questions will probably be answered.
Take a look at our new video on students returning to Los Vaqueros in September, 2012 after the expansion work was done.
Students need more than classroom learning
As
a teacher,
you know students need more than just classroom learning. Sometimes they want to be stimulated and challenged with outside experiences that
enrich what they learn inside the classroom.
The
Contra Costa Water District has a variety of field trip, classroom programs and assembly experiences
that you can choose for your students. All programs are provided at
no cost within CCWD's service
area. CCWD will also reimburse the cost of bus transportation
for many of the programs.
Whether
it's visiting the Los
Vaqueros Watershedto learn about plants, wildlife, and California history, or getting a
look at the technology that protects our drinking water supply, the Contra
Costa Water District is happy to provide a variety of stimulating experiences
your students will long remember.
