CCWD Water Education
Earns Governor's Award

California Department of Food And Agriculture Secretary A.G. Kawamura presents the Governor's Environmental and Economic Leadership Award to CCWD's Marianne Hook and Patty Friesen.
CCWD's Water Education Program was named a winner of the "Governor's Environmental and Economic
Leadership Award" in Sacramento in Nov. '08.
Director of Public Affairs Patty Friesen and Education Specialist Marianne Hook received the award, California’s highest and most prestigious environmental honor.
“This award validates the ongoing support CCWD’s Board of Directors has given the Education Program
over the years,” said Marianne. “We’re very fortunate to have a group of dedicated instructors who work very hard to present these quality programs to thousands of students.”

As
a teacher,
you know students need more than just classroom learning. Sometimes they want to be stimulated and challenged with outside experiences that
enrich what they learn inside the classroom.
The
Contra Costa Water District has a variety of field trip, classroom programs and assembly experiences
that you can choose for your students. All programs are provided at
no cost within CCWD's service
area. CCWD will also reimburse the cost of bus transportation
for many of the programs.
Most of our programs book up quickly. We start accepting requests for our field trips and classroom programs for the next school year starting May 3, 2010.
Registration forms can be downloaded from this site, along with Frequently Asked Questions for each program type. Book early for the best times and dates.
Whether
it's visiting the Los
Vaqueros Watershed to learn about plants, wildlife, and California history, or getting a
look at the technology that protects our drinking water supply, the Contra
Costa Water District is happy to provide a variety of stimulating experiences
your students will long remember.
For
more information, view our education program brochure or call CCWD at (925) 688-8307.
