Principles
of Participation
The purpose
of the CCWD Customer Service Plumbing Program is to provide customers
with a list of qualified, prescreened contractors to perform plumbing repairs on customer-owned plumbing systems.
Plumbers participating
in the program have agreed to adhere to the following principles:
1. Hold and
maintain a valid, unrestricted, Class C-36 (plumbing) contractors
license issued by the State of California
2. Maintain
Workers Compensation and Employers Liability insurance
3. Maintain
Comprehensive Automotive Liability Insurance providing bodily injury
liability and property damage with limits of liability of not less
than $250,000 per accident
4. Maintain
General Liability Insurance providing for any and all claims for
damages for personal injury (including death) or for damages or
destruction of the property of others. (Policy shall provide a minimum
of $500,000 combined single limit coverage for each occurrence and
$1,000,000 aggregate.)
5. Notify CCWD
of any complaints filed against them with the State Contractors
License Board
6. Notify CCWD
of any legal actions by the State Contractors License Board, individuals,
or other public agencies pertaining to, or arising from, the performance
of the plumbing trade by the contractor
7. Maintain
an ongoing training program for repair staff
8. Respond
on-site to consumer calls within their maximum response time
9. Will not
compensate employees based on commission for the amount of work
performed under this program
10. Provide
a detailed written estimate for all work to the customer prior to
starting work
11. Enter into
a written contract with the customer
12. Warrantee
all work for a period of one year from the completion of the repair
13. Enter into
binding arbitration with the customer for any dispute arising. Arbitration
shall be conducted by the State Contractors License Board.
