The Contra Costa Water District's Engineering Department averages over $1.5 million in consultant design services contracts annually.

During a normal year, approximately five consultant contracts are awarded. Projects range in size from the large-scale design of water treatment plant improvements and rehabilitation to the rehabilitation of existing open canal facilities and public right-of-way pipelines. Normally, the consultant services required by the Department are in the following engineering disciplines: civil, structural, survey, electrical, mechanical, geotechnical, and instrumentation. Depending on the nature of the project, services can include one specific discipline, or the integration of several professional disciplines.

The Engineering Department is currently receiving SOQs from consultants on the projects cited below.

CCWD's 10-year Capital
Improvement Program
If you are interested in the District's 10-year Capital Improvement Program (CIP), which is updated annually and contains the general plan for the District's individual Capital Projects, you can view the CIP here or purchase a CIP through the District's Planning Department, by calling 688-8253.

The Ten-Year Capital improvement Program and Financial Plan (CIP) provides a road map for the new capital facilities and needed improvements to existing facilities required to carry out the District’s mission. The Ten-Year CIP provides an opportunity for the District to prioritize capital expenditures, manage cash flow, and project revenue requirements and long-term rate impacts to fund the proposed projects and anticipated operating costs. The CIP is an annually updated financial planning tool that helps the District minimize rate impacts of capital work. The CIP for fiscal years 2007 - 2016 is composed of ten programs containing 55 separate projects with a total estimated cost of $481.8 million.
