Elizabeth Robinson Anello


Elizabeth Anello represents Division 1, which includes the cities and communities of Martinez, north and downtown Concord, Pacheco, Port Costa, Clyde, Bay Point, Pleasant Hill and Pittsburg.

Elizabeth has been a member of the board since 1993.

In her professional role, Dr. Anello was served as Social Services Manager for Kaiser Permanente Hospitals in the North East Bay Region, responsible for the management of professional medical social work services at Kaiser's Vallejo and Walnut Creek hospitals.

That followed 15 years as Director of Social Work for San Francisco Department of Public Health's Tom Waddell Health Center and earlier social work positions in mental health, criminal justice, chemical dependency, public housing, and private psychotherapy practice, as well as two-years of service as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer.

She has also served in many voluntary leadership positions on the boards of community-based nonprofit organizations, including those serving mental health patients, veterans, neighborhoods, and homeless people, and she is a member of numerous organizations promoting public health and human welfare.

Elizabeth has her B.A. degree in political science from Jackson College of Tufts University, her M.S.W. degree from the Graduate School of Social Work at the University of Michigan, and her Ph.D. degree in social welfare from the School of Social Welfare at the University of California at Berkeley. Dr. Anello lives in Concord.
