Getting to CCWD

Why the water industry & why CCWD?

Water is a precious and limited resource that is a vital element to a growing and successful economy. As population demands grow and environmental impacts are felt on delicate ecosystems such as the California Delta, the challenge for providing safe, reliable drinking water grows exponentially.

The water industry needs to attract intelligent, creative and dedicated student interns to help meet those challenges, and protect the public we serve.

As an Intern, you have the opportunity to engage in a satisfying, meaningful program at the Contra Costa Water District, an organization committed to excellence and providing leadership in water and infrastructure management, as well as environmental protection.  If you’re looking to make a positive difference through valuable and rewarding work in an organization that promotes continuous learning and growth, then we encourage you to consider CCWD as your future employer!

The District prides itself on being a leading edge, results-oriented, can-do organization committed to excellence on every level.  Intern team members are given the opportunity to contribute on a wide variety of complex and rewarding projects, such as new water conveyance, treatment and distribution facilities, Delta improvement projects, and a potential water storage reservoir expansion project.

The projects you will be working on will be challenging and provice a strong resume building experience.

Experience the Value of Mentoring & Coaching

CCWD also has a strong culture of continuous improvement, with senior and executive leadership committed to supporting new interns through coaching and mentoring.  The door is always open for interns looking to further develop their skills and knowledge, and the District is committed to hiring highly motivated individuals seeking long-term career growth with the organization.

This focus on mentoring sets CCWD’s internship program apart from all the others.  You’ll gain valuable insight into the field of engineering and establish a long term, supportive relationship with professionals in the water industry.
