CCWD office locations

The Contra Costa Water District's Main Office is located in Concord, California.

Concord is located within the San Francisco Bay Area, and is about 30 miles east of San Francisco.

Most interns will work either in District Center or the recently-completed CCWD Planning, Engineering & Construction Services Building.

The buildings are within a short walk of each other.

Parking is free at CCWD offices.

Getting to CCWD offices:

Car

If you are driving, CCWD offices are conveniently close to Interstate 680, Route 242 and Highway 4 on Concord Ave. These three freeways connect with most Bay Area freeways.

BART

The Concord BART station is about 1.5 miles from District Center, and a relatively easy walk.

There is a bus from the station to CCWD offices, the County Connections' Route 118 goes directly from the Concord BART to District Center and runs hourly.

Take the Pittsburg/Bay Point BART line to get to Concord.

CCWD participates in the Commuter Check program, which is a convenient way to purchase BART tickets while saving some money.

Bicycle

Bike riding is convenient to CCWD's District Center and and Bisso Buildings. The Ironhorse Trail passes within about two blocks of CCWD offices.

The trail is paved, and is desgned for bicyclists. It passes through Pleasant Hill, Walnut Creek and extends all the way to Dublin.

Both CCWD offices have bicycle racks.

If you ride a long distance, there are showers available for men and women in the nearby O&M building.

Bicycle & BART

Many employees who commute to CCWD from Oakland, Alameda or the Berkeley-area find a pleasant way to get to District Center is to use the BART and their bicycles.

Bikes are allowed at all hours on eastbound BART trains.

They ride BART to Pleasant Hill, and then ride their bicycles on the nearby Ironhorse Trail about 4.5 miles to the CCWD offices. With a few exceptions, the trail crosses under most major streets.
